All our tours are functional during the pandemic so you are more than welcome to any of our tours.
Of course you can ride the funicular on our tours. Our tours are private and can be easily customized.
In our case, the difference between Zagreb walking tour and Zagreb sightseeing tour is that Zagreb walking tour is a basic tour that last 2 hours and is limited to the city center. Zagreb sightseeing tour, on the other hand, includes a walking tour but also the sights located out of the center (Mirogoj cemetery and New Zagreb).
Dear travelers, we are very flexible with our cancellation policy. So yes, you can cancel the tour even on the day without any fee, but we would kindly ask you to do so as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
Zagreb walking tour starts at your accommodation if you are in the city center or at a meeting point at Ban Jelačić square.
Zagreb walking tour is a great start in the city. It gives you a chance, in a short time, to get to know basic information on the city and give you an orientation to be able to explore it further. The tour usually starts at your accommodation or ban Jelačić square. The attractions you will visit are: Zagreb Cathedral, Dolac market, St Mark’s square and church, Stone gate, Lotršćak Tower, Zagreb funicular, Zrinjevac park… If we missed something and you wish to add it to the itinerary it is not a problem, please let us know and we will adjust it accordingly.
It is actually quite hard to decide on which is the best time to visit Zagreb. Each season offers something different and exciting. Winter is time for Advent in zagreb or the Christmas market, spring, summer and autumn are filled with food and music festivals and events. The only thing that differs is the temperature. Bear in mind that in winter the temperature goes to -10 and in summer (august) 35*C.
Getting around Zagreb is quite easy. The whole city center can be done on foot, but other than that you have trams, buses, taxis and Uber.
English language is very popular in Zagreb and the majority of young people speak it. It is obligatory in Croatian schools so people in Zagreb communicate in English quite well.
Of course, like in any other European capital, you can always pay with credit cards in Zagreb. The only exemptions might be on the Dolac market or similar open air markets.
The currency used in Zagreb is Croatian Kuna. Croatia is a part of the European Union but unfortunately we still do not use euros.
It is really hard to answer how many days you should stay in Zagreb. It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to quickly explore Zagreb and continue 1 day is enough (Zagreb sightseeing tour). If you want to explore the city and experience it fully we sure recommend a 2 – 3 days (Zagreb city break). In the end, if you want to explore Zagreb surroundings and to some tours from Zagreb then book a few days. Zagreb is perfectly located and it gives you a chance to explore the whole region around it and even other European countries (Slovenia Tour from Zagreb).
Zagreb is a unique city with a long history. The things you can only do/see in Zagreb are: ride on the shortest funicular in the world, visit the Museum of broken relationships and you can have a cup of coffee at Špica – the most popular destination for Saturday morning coffee where all the people dress up and all the Croatian celebrities attend.
Zagreb airport is a bit less than 20 km away from Zagreb city center. It takes you about 30 min by car to get there (depending on the time of the day). If you need a transfer to Zagreb airport you can check our prices HERE.
Dear Travelers, Zagreb is definitely worth visiting. Some say that Zagreb is a mix of Central Europe and Mediterranean, in a good way. People are friendly and easy going and you have the beautiful city to explore. The medieval heart of the city and everyday life on the streets of the city will make you come back. Zagreb came as a nice surprise for many travelers. Let it surprise you too. Other than beautiful architecture and interesting long history you can enjoy the culinary specialties and coffee drinking culture on every step in the Croatian capital.
Dear travelers, our recommendation is that you stay in the city center (Zagreb Upper and Lower Town) because it makes your stay so much easier. Zagreb city center can be done on foot and all the landmarks are in your walking distance. Zagreb city center offers great hotels and excellent Airbnb’s.
Yes, it is possible to have a transfer from Zagreb to Dubrovnik in one day but be aware it’s a minimum 6 and a half hour drive (one way).
