DOLAC MARKET ZAGREB

Dolac is the biggest, most important and most famous market in Zagreb. It was opened in 1930 after the protective walls of Kaptol were torn down. The city decided to move the market from Harmica (now the main ban Jelačić square) to Dolac. it is a combination of open and closed market. Many of the locals come to the market aily to buy fresh products from the local farms sold by Kumice. Kumica is a nickame for the ladies that come and sell their products on Dolac. You will even see a statue of a Kumica entering the market from the south.

OUR TIP: Try some local products. One of the most famous one is fresh cream & cottage cheese.
