Private transfer and day tour are reserved for you going from Vienna to Ljubljana. You will stop along the way in Graz.
Graz is Austria’s second-largest city and was named European Capital of Culture in 2003 and City of Design in 2009. It is one of the best-preserved historical cities in Europe, and is full of impressive institutions and exciting cultural attractions. It is often referred to as ‘Vienna’s little sister’. Graz is not only a cultural hotspot, it is also a foodie’s paradise. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old Town of Graz is striking for its well-preserved medieval and Italian renaissance buildings.
You will continue to Ljubljana.
Overnight Ljubljana.
Day 4 Ljubljana – Bled – Postojna
We will start this day with a short walk in Ljubljana. Ljubljana is a vibrant little city which center you can visit on foot. On your walking tour you will hear bits and pieces of Slovenian and Ljubljana’s history while enjoying the everyday buzz in the heart of this capital.
The tour continues to Bled Lake, a natural oasis hidden between the Slovenian Alps. You can choose your activities there; maybe you will like to visit the Bled island, maybe the Bled castle will be your choice. It will be up to you.
Next stop is Postojna cave. This natural gem will take your breath away. The power of nature in this cave is just stunning. Millions of years took to form the shapes inside the cave and it’s so hard to describe the beauty of it.
Overnight in Postojna.
Day 5 Postojna – Istria
The fifth day is reserved for Istrian peninsula. It’s a place where the green hills meet the blue Adriatic. Experience the medieval cities on hilltops and Roman heritage on the coastline.
You will start the tour by heading to Motovun, the gorgeous medieval city in the heart of Istria. Motovun is the best preserved fortress in Istria. It’s name came from Celtic Montona which means a city in the mountains.
Rovinj, the colorful pearl of the Adriatic, is next. The narrow streets and colorful facades makes you want to explore the city and find each and every hidden street. Next is Pula because we don’t want you to miss the grandiose Arena, the best preserved Roman amphitheater in the world.
The tour will end with an overnight in Opatija. Opatija is the famous Croatian city, one of the first tourist destinations in Croatia.
Overnight Opatija.
Day 6 Opatija – Plitvice lakes national park
Although you will be spending most of this tour in beautiful natural surroundings, I would say this will by far be on top of your favorite places. Plitvice Lakes National park is the oldest and the biggest Croatian national park. But it’s not just that. The park is a real paradise. Beautiful lakes and cascades, lake water that changes colors from turquoise to dark green, many animal and plants – simply a paradise.
The tour will end in Zadar.
Overnight Zadar.
Day 7 Zadar – Krka river national park – Šibenik
A wise man once said that nowhere in the world can a person witness a more beautiful sunset than in Zadar. The words were spoken fifty years ago by the famous movie director Alfred Hitchcock. And they are still true. Zadar is where the modern meets the ancient. The breathtaking sunset you can see from the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun – modern unique installations that have become two of the most popular attractions. They stand for urban, lively, hip, Zadar of the 21st century, but Zadar has proudly stood there for a few millennia, to which many a historical monument can testify.
You will start the day with a walking tour of the city of Zadar and then you will continue to Krka river national park. A walk next to the river by the beautiful cascades will again show you how gorgeous nature is in Croatia.
Overnight Šibenik.
Day 8 Šibenik – Trogir – Split
Getting to know the 3 beautiful cities will be the mission for the day. All three cities have a long history and all three have a UNESCO heritage listed sights. The Cathedral of St James in Šibenik, historic city of Trogir is a remarkable example of urban continuity. The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement dates back to the Hellenistic period and it was embellished by successive rulers with many fine public and domestic buildings and fortifications. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period, and in the end Split and the Diocletian’s palace.
No need to worry, you won’t miss a thing.
Overnight Split.
Day 9 – island hopping tour
Split has a perfect location for a boat tour of some of the Croatian islands. Day 9 will be spent at sea while exploring the Croatian islands.
