The castle which is depicted on the coat of arms of the flag of Ljubljana city. it is a castle complex above downtown Ljubljana, a medieval fortress from the 11th century made for defense purposes. The present appearance it got in the 15th century, and some of the building are from the 17th and 18th century. But the historical findings say that it was settled continuously from year 1200 BC. The castle is connected with Downtown by a funicular. Today the castle is a museum of Slovenian history, a beautiful viewpoint of Ljubljana and space for art exhibitions, cafe’s, restaurants…
