STONE GATE – ZAGREB UPPER TOWN

One of the oldest monuments in Zagreb. The stone gate is a part of the defense system of Zagreb and were built in the middle ages, in the 13th century. Today’s form it got in the 18th century. In the passage there is a chapel dedicated to the Virgen of Stone gate with the painting of the Virgin that survived the great fire that happened in Zagreb in 1731.
